Before the Karabakh war the town of Shushi had population of 20 000 people, predominantly Azeris. When it was captured by Armenians, the entire Azeri population fled. Now only 3 000 inhabitants remain in this town, mainly Armenian refugees who in turn had to flee Azerbaijan. Some parts of the town look like a ghost city. Burned, damaged buildings and military vehicles are everywhere.
